Monday, January 15, 2024—Casper, Wyoming—Located in the heart of Wyoming, Casper is welcoming new offerings and celebrating anniversaries in 2024, including the inaugural 5150’ Winterfest and the 75th anniversary of the College National Finals Rodeo.

“2024 is gearing up to be an epic year in Casper,” said Tyler Daugherty, CEO of Visit Casper. “We have amazing events coming to central Wyoming, as well as new businesses opening that will expand and enrich our offerings as we welcome visitors.”

New offerings for 2024 include:

  • 5150’ Winterfest: A brand new event for 2024 designed to celebrate winter in Casper, 5150’ Winterfest is set for January 27-February 4, 2024, and includes a film festival, photography exhibit, snow sculpting competition and symphony.
  • College National Finals Rodeo (CNFR) Marks 25 Years in Casper and 75th Anniversary. This year marks the 25th year that CNFR has hung its hat in Casper, while it’s also the 75th anniversary of the event. Slated for June 9-15, 2024, CNFR welcomes 400+ collegiate athletes from across the U.S. and Canada to compete in a variety of events, including bareback, bull riding, saddle bronc riding, steer wrestling, tie-down roping, team roping, barrel racing, breakaway roping and goat tying.
  • NJCAA Tournament Coming to Casper in 2024 and 2025. Visit Casper will host the 24-team championship at the Ford Wyoming Center – a 28,000-square-foot facility with 8,000 seats – from March 26-April 1, 2024, and March 25-31, 2025.
  • Wyo Sports Ranch to Open in 2024. A new facility, Wyo Sports Ranch, is a 131,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility with 10 basketball courts, 20 volleyball courts and permanent indoor multi-use turf. It is set to open in late 2024. The facility is located adjacent to the Ford Wyoming Center and will expand the youth sports programming and ability to host tournaments.
  • Casper Pickleball & Sports Complex. The newly opened Casper Pickleball & Sports Complex is making pickleball more accessible than ever, with eight state-of-the-art pickleball courts, as well as eight batting cages. The facility has 35,000 square feet of sports-related terrain.
  • 9 Breweries Now Call Casper Home. Cygnet Brewing is planning on opening its doors in the Old Yellowstone District in March 2024, bringing Casper’s total brewery count to nine. The town’s microbreweries are best explored on the Casper Ale Trail.  
  • Hell’s Half Acre Reopens to Hikers. While it’s been closed since 2005, Hell’s Half Acres – a 960-acre tract of land donated to the county in 1924 – will reopen to hikers for recreational use in 2024. The landscapes include badlands with deep ravines, caves and wind-shaped earth and rock formations.
  • New Restaurant, Trampoline Park and Indoor Golf Facility. Wyoming’s first Boston’s Pizza Restaurant & Sports Bar will open inside the Best Western Downtown Casper during the first quarter of 2024. In terms of indoor recreation, Jump Craze is doubling its size to 23,000 square feet by moving to a new building later this year. The Range at 5150 rounds out Casper’s indoor offerings and is the city’s newest indoor golf facility and sports bar, which includes cutting-edge golf simulators and more than 25 golf courses. The Jeffree Star Store – which opened in summer 2023 in the Old Yellowstone District – is the only place to buy Jeffree Star Cosmetics and yak meat from his local Star Yak Ranch.
  • 2024 Travel Guide Available Now.
