Description

Explore a local hidden gem at the National Historic Trails Interpretive Center (NHTIC) at 1 p.m. on Sunday, June 24, during the free interpretive program, “You Will Want to Return: The Ferris Mountains.”
The Ferris Mountains were a landmark for ancient hunters on foot, early explorers on horseback, and emigrants on their way up the Sweetwater in wagons. Today the ancient, isolated range offers inspiration and opportunities for various forms of recreation. NHTIC interpreter Reid Miller will cover the past and present of this nearby mountain habitat, including a high-definition video presentation of the areas landscape and wildlife.
The NHTIC proudly presents a summer of afternoon programs on pioneer and Wyoming history. These short interpretive programs, ranging from 20 to 45 minutes, are free and open to the public.
For more information, please contact the NHTIC by calling (307) 261-7780.
