Fort Caspar Museum is starting a new series of monthly programs called “Hands-on History.” These workshops will be held twice a month on Saturdays and will take students of all ages on a learning journey through time. Come smell, eat, and enjoy Old West past-times. Understand and appreciate the sacrifices many of the pioneers, soldiers, trail-blazers, miners, and more endured during their life-times. Handle and study objects used by people long gone, and then create your own art pieces, science projects, and culinary delights. Most of all, learn about history while having fun.

We kick off the Hands-on History program with “Wyoming Wild” on June 15th from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. Learn about the many interesting animals and plants that live and grow on the Plains. Find out which ones Caspar Collins encountered and what he thought about them. Try to identify mystery animals and plants, then make a berry crumble to take home and enjoy.
