Description

Plan a western excursion with the technology of the pioneers at the National Historic Trails Interpretive Center (NHTIC) at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 23, during the free interpretive program, “Navigating the Prairie.”
Join Don Erikson, “U.S. Topographical Engineer” re-enactor, as he shares the intricacies, methodology and science of land navigation in the 1800’s. Erikson will paint a descriptive picture of the transportation corridors, including migration and commerce along the pioneer route known as the Great Platte River road.
The NHTIC proudly presents a summer of afternoon programs on pioneer and Wyoming history. These short interpretive programs, ranging from 20 to 45 minutes, are free and open to the public.
For more information, please contact the NHTIC by calling (307) 261-7780.
