Home-made Ice Cream at the Historic Bishop Home on August 11, 2018
Do you like ice cream? Do you remember making “hand-cranked” ice cream on a hot August day? If your answer is yes to either question, come enjoy ice cream, and celebrate 112 years of Casper history at the Historic Bishop Home, August 11, 2018, 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The Bishop family moved into this home in August 1907. It is the first multi-story brick home built in Casper, and is credited with changing citizens’ ideas about housing—another step that lead to the development of this Wyoming community into the state’s central business center. Our house manager, Eric Coates, will bring his 1928 “ice cream” truck and share the history of ice cream production. Of course, samples will be for sale to benefit the Historic Bishop Home.
While you enjoy your ice cream in the home’s backyard, you can participate in our traditional August “house” cleaning by browsing our sale on used books and other memorabilia. As an added attraction this year, the Wyoming Symphony Barbershop Quartet will entertain. Remember, all proceeds will benefit the sustainability of the home and the history it represents to Casper’s community.
Bishop Home is located on the north side of 2nd Street at 818 E 2nd St, with cross streets Lincoln and Jefferson. Parking is behind the home, and on the streets.
Mark your calendar to join us for this DELICIOUS event—remember, supplies may be limited! For more information, visit www.Facebook.Historic Bishop Home-Cadoma Foundation, www.cadomafoundation.org, or call (307) 237-2443.
