The Historic Bishop Home

Remember the days of Radio Shows like Fibber Magee and Molly, The Shadow, The Green Hornet, Roy Rodgers and on and on? Plan to join the Historic Bishop Home on Saturday, October 20, 2018 to celebrate the “Golden Age of Radio” and start Halloween early.

Mystery radio shows narrated by Vincent Price were among the most popular during this era, and continue to awaken the imagination of all ages. The exhibit will include old radios, and items related to old radio shows. Community members will demonstrate how sound effects were made and when it gets dark, we’ll listen to a classic radio mystery, “Three Skelton Keys”, on an old-time radio.

Please join us and relive the “Golden Age of Radio”-there will be cider and cookies! Regular Home tour hours are Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The hours will be extended from 4 to 7:30 p.m. for our Fall celebrations of Halloween and the “Golden Age of Radio”. Cost is $2 per person.

The Historic Bishop Home, a property of the Cadoma Foundation, is located at 818 East 2nd Street. Parking is available behind the home off Lincoln Street. For more information, call (307) 237-2443, email info@cadomafoundation.org, or follow us on Facebook-Bishop Home Museum-Cadoma Foundation.
