With miles of trails to explore no matter the season, Casper Mountain truly is the crown jewel of Casper's outdoor recreation. If you're planning your adventure, here are the can't miss spots on Casper Mountain to hike, bike, ski, or camp!

  • Casper Mountain Trails Center and Park: With a public bathroom and water refill station, this is the perfect place to park before jumping on miles of year-round trails.
  • Crimson Dawn Park: This enchanting museum on Casper Mountain is the original log cabin home of artist Neal Forsling.
  • Hogadon Basin Ski Area: Wyoming's only inverted ski hill offers nigh skiing and over 20 runs for skiers of all skill levels.
  • Ponderosa Park: A backcountry park that includes 2,460 acres of primitive land towards the east end of Casper Mountain.
  • Rotary Park with the Bridle Trail: Perhaps the most Insta-worthy stop on Casper Mountain where hikers can enjoy the sights and sounds of Casper's only waterfall.

Casper Mountain Trails Center

Managed by Natrona County Parks and serves, this facility serves as a hub for the Nordic trail system. These trails are also accessible in the summer and provide a variety of terrain, flora, and fauna. These trails range from difficulty from easy and fairly flat to hilly and technical. The Eadsville Trail is just under four miles and offers the most varied terrain and scenery and is very popular for hikers and mountain bikers.

Hogadon Basin Ski Area

With a variety of runs ranging from black diamond to beginner friendly, Hogadon Basin Ski Area is Natrona County's premier destination for outdoor recreation in the winter. It's budget friendly and significantly less crowded than comparable ski resorts across the Rocky Mountain Region, making it the perfect place for the family ski trip.

Ponderosa Park

Located in the southeast portion of Casper Mountain, Ponderosa Park offers over 2,460 acres of property and two canyons with trails/ORV loops. The road accessing the park is not for a city vehicle. Take a four-wheel drive with some clearance to access the area. This trail system is approximately 25 minutes from Casper. The park is in its natural state with streams, timber, sagebrush, flats, and cliffs.
