For a hand clappin’ – foot stompin’ good time, plan to attend the Rocky Mountain Regional Fiddle Championships & Music Festival August 11-13 at the Casper Ramada Plaza Riverside, 300 W. “F” Street.
Spectator admission is free.
Friday night, Aug. 11 – informal jam session, usually begins around 9 p.m. as musicians arrive.
The music competition starts at 9 a.m. Saturday with musicians vying for over $3100 in prizes for fiddle, guitar, variety instruments and vocals for all ages.
At 5 p.m. there will be a family-style buffet dinner including fried chicken, pulled pork, potatoes, salads, dessert and beverage. Dinner tickets must be purchased by Wednesday, August 9th. Cost is $16.50 for adults and $11.50 for kids 10 & under. Price includes tax and tip.
Grand Championship Fiddle rounds, Twin Fiddle finals, and entertainment start at 7 p.m.
Sunday morning:
9 a.m. – Banjo Workshop presented by Bill McKay.
10 a.m. – Master Fiddle Workshop presented by Cody Stadelmaier
11 a.m. – Mandolin Workshop presented by Bill McKay.
Cost of workshops is $25 per person per workshop.
