In one of the grandest displays of pageantry to ever take place at Fort Laramie, seventeen-year-old Mini-aku was laid to rest in a scaffold grave overlooking the fort. National Historic Trails Interpretive Center’s Shawn Wade will relate the story of Mini-aku, the daughter of Brule’ Chief Spotted Tail, and her final wish to be buried among the whites.
