Cory: Artcore’s Music and poetry series provides such a great stage for folks who are in love with words. I know Vicki Windle is one of those people and thanks to Artcore we have been fortunate to work together: weaving music and poetry around a chosen theme.
Now thanks to Wolf Gang of Wyoming Film and Television Productions we have this year’s theme.
I was asked to write music for the documentary Dell Burke and the Yellow Hotel about the woman and the brothel in Lusk, Wyoming that ran from 1919 till the early 1980’s and of course Vicki saw an opportunity to weave her magic. We will be bouncing between poetry and song discussing a spicy subject and a remarkable woman of Wyoming history.
Vicki: Poetry. Art. Music. These are the expressions of my passions. I love travel, meeting people, learning about countries and cultures. I love trying new foods and experiences. I love nature, kayaking and cross-country skiing. I love Wyoming’s geology, geography, archeology and history.
I love Casper. It has become a hub of creativity. How fortunate I feel to share this space and time with so many talented and creative people, the inimitable Cory McDaniel, for one.
I love. Releasing that love has led to so much. I had just discovered I could write, when Cory discovered I could sing. In beginning to publish my poetry, I rediscovered long-neglected artistic abilities. One good thing leads to another, when passions are followed.
On social media, I asked folks what passion means to them. Those responses will be part of our Music and Poetry performance.
Cory and I hope to entice, elicit and entertain.
Beverages served only from 7:00 to 7:30 and at intermission.
